New York detective and single mom Harlee Santos must walk the thin line between loyalty and betrayal. She's forever dedicated to her team -- especially to her boss and mentor Lt. Matt Wozniak, a dirty cop who's always kept her family safe. But when ruthless FBI agent Robert Stahl catches her on the take, he leaves her no choice but to turn on her own. Though the mounting pressure on both sides is constant and influences her every move, Harlee stops at nothing to protect herself -- and those she loves.

Solid performances by Jennifer Lopez and Ray Liotta fail to lift Shades of Blue above the ranks of the pedestrian network procedural.

Kayla Kumari Upadhyaya Complex ... boring isn't even the worst offense Shades Of Blue commits. Mar 22, 2018 Full Review Martin Hoyle Financial Times Despite occasionally corny dialogue, Shades of Blue works through brisk plotting, taut acting and an eye for the idiosyncratic detail. Rated: 3/5 May 2, 2017 Full Review Brad Newsome Sydney Morning Herald Shades of Blue isn't about to pass The Shield as the high-water mark of the American dirty-cop genre. Oct 4, 2016 Full Review Nabila Hatimy The Star (Kenya) Shades of Blue is a story of crime, drama, passion, obsession, love and betrayal. In this show, Lopez is just Jenny from the block; which makes her loveable, charismatic and a favourite with the audience. Jul 17, 2020 Full Review Daisy Wyatt iNews.co.uk If you can deal with cliched lines about "all being family" and a lead policewoman who wears too much blusher, Shades of Blue is admittedly rather watchable. Jan 25, 2019 Full Review Kari Croop Common Sense Media Cop drama's leading lady is sexy, strong, and morally shady. Rated: 3/5 Jan 19, 2016 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member It's funny, but NBC has cancel so many good series just after 1 or 2 seasons and they keep this peace of "S&¨%" series for more than 3 seasons... That's garbage... Ray Liotta on his worse acting job and Jennifer Lopez, pff, she should just give up acting, because she is the worse actress EVER!!! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member I really liked this. Not sure what bug crawled up the collective critics' rear ends. Good all around entertaining show. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Amazing show! Has many exciting moments. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member I like; its different and J Lo is good and downright beautiful. Ray Liotta is great. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Personally I really like the show. I think J-Lo's performance is very strong especially since I know her so well from American Idol. Can't wait for the second season. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Good acting but cliched plot and story line.
