Rose Maura Lorre New York Magazine/Vulture The season premiere of Sleepy Hollow certainly felt... barren and soulless, like a nuclear winter. Rated: 2/5 Feb 23, 2019 Full Review Jessica Breaux TV Equals I wasn't overly impressed with the season premiere, but the second episode showed some promise. Jan 18, 2017 Full Review Amanda Hayman The Young Folks Overall, it's a good start to season four considering the show has never really found its legs since the end of season 1. Nay N Was such a great show until the writers went a different direction. Too bad there's no way to resurrect the show and bring back the original cast and have the same feel as the first season. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/24/22 Full Review Audience Member I was disappointed to see that Det. Abbie Mills, the new captain and the other agent girl did not return for season 4. Whose idea was it to get rid of half the cast. 5 thumbs down. It was a good series (seasons 1-3). Why fix something that's not broken Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review jon c Season 3 said farewell to Nicole Behari's Abbi Mills as she gave her life to save the world from being destroyed Pandora was defeated as well as her husband god the Hidden One but Jim Corbin lost his life too as the Wendigo Turns out the Witnesses' souls are eternal so even though Abbi is gone she lives in another Season 4 shifts the action over to Washington D.C. with 5 newcomers assisting Icabod Crane; Diana Thomas of Homeland Security, Alex and Jake, and Thomas' daughter Molly, the new headquarters is called the Vault being the ultimate library for history A new enemy is a man called Malcolm Dreyfuss unleashing new dangers from a demonic John Wilkes Booth to witches to werewolves to a djinn to the return of the Headless Horseman as well as a fallen character from the start of the show plus we find out Dreyfuss sold his soul to someone of pure evil He's also collecting pieces of an artifact called the Philosophers Stone that can create immortality We even get a nostalgia trip back to where everything started I'm happy more mysteries of our historical figures like Paul Jennings, Washington, and Uncle Sam are delved into The life of a soldier involves losing people, we all make a choice for the greater good, our lives are more intwined than we realize, we're more than capable to face danger if we want to, and good and evil will always coincide The finale leads up to the biggest change of Icabod Crane ever; it all boils down to the series epic conclusion Season 4 is shorter and isn't as grandiose as previous chapters and missing Behari may diminish the quality for most viewers but now it feels like a proper closing chapter to Icabod Crane's journey as an eternal Witness Alex Kurtzman and Robert Orci have delivered another successful other-worldly program from start to finish combining the Biblical elements and our sacred American history rest in peace Sleepy Hollow....
