What to Know

Critics Consensus

Smallville's third season sometimes succumbs to the series' kryptonite of incredulous plot twists, but inspired use of Superman's iconography and Michael Rosenbaum's smarmy take on Lex Luthor continue to delight.

Sacha Molitorisz Sydney Morning Herald What started out promisingly as an inventive reimagining of Superman has descended into laughable soap opera. Feb 13, 2020 Full Review Cory Barker AV Club The show's third season is by far its darkest, and also its best, with every plot thread cumulating here. Nov 22, 2017 Full Review Danny Graydon Empire Magazine Notably, the appearance of the late Christopher Reeve combines intrigue with poignancy. Rated: 4/5 Oct 18, 2017 Full Review Wm. Steven Humphrey The Stranger (Seattle, WA) The kids on Smallville are as dumb as a box of hammers -- just like real teenagers!... The Smallville teens are confused, dumb, and mopey... just like me at that age. Feb 13, 2020 Full Review Vic Holtreman Screen Rant Millar and Gough seem to want to wrap this show more in mysticism than science fiction. In my opinion they are starting to walk a thin line with this overarching plotline. Feb 12, 2020 Full Review Rob Owen Pittsburgh Post-Gazette I'm willing to give the producers some rope in hopes that these unfortunate plot turns will lead to something interesting eventually, but so far, it's a tad preposterous. Ed R More introspective into the Lex Luthor lifestyle and their tumultuous relationship! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/14/24 Full Review Person 1 I enjoyed seasons 1 and 2 a lot more than 3. Some of the writing in season 3 I thought was stupid or just boring. A few episodes where the stupidity was at an all-time high I just skipped to the next episode. But it gets good again towards the end of the season. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/08/24 Full Review Michael P Small step up from Season 2 but not much to warrant a star rating change. Clark became annoying with his actions and definitely doesn't feel like the good guy for a fair amount of this season. How his and Lex's relationship develop is a high point though and I hope it get's used in future Superman adaptations Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/04/24 Full Review Spike G This was amazing season bruh Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/02/23 Full Review Leandro S Série ótima demais. Nota 10 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/20/23 Full Review Read all reviews
