Critics Consensus

It's the end of Smallville and the beginning of Superman, and those who stuck with the series through all ten seasons should come away satisfied.

Brian Lowry Variety Hanging around too long turned out to be the show's kreative Kryptonite, in other words, which was more than evident from the bloated, confusing, mess of a two-hour finale. Feb 13, 2020 Full Review Paul Kalina Sydney Morning Herald Forget the superhero derring-do of Clark Kent and Lois Lane and think instead of saccharine melodrama and soft-focus teen romance, for that's what the adventures of the young Superman have been reduced to in this 10th and final season of Smallville. Feb 13, 2020 Full Review Phil Dyess-Nugent AV Club Smallville's much-ballyhooed double-length finale turns out to be a sodden mess that mostly points up how off-balance the show became. Jul 12, 2018 Full Review Ben Gibbons Screen Rant Smallville remains one of the ultimate superhero origin stories ever to be made, and the cast is incredible as they explore the life of Clark Kent. Rated: 8/10 Dec 4, 2024 Full Review Rohan Patel ComicBookMovie.com A genuine show made with so much heart, humor, and passion that there was rarely anything I wanted to do more thantune in for the latest chapter in Clark Kent's journey every week as he worked his way toward becoming the Man of Steel we know and love. Rated: 10/10 Oct 20, 2021 Full Review Robert Moore PopMatters Objectively I have never ranked Smallville among the dozen or so best shows on TV, but I nonetheless retain an affection for this show that transcends its aesthetic achievements. Ed R The the best ending to a historic and quality show. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/06/25 Full Review Nick J One the best shows during its time. Unpopular opinion I believe the show got better in the later seasons. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/19/24 Full Review Jason R The final Season Smallville had some good episodes and moments, but to have Lois have doubts about Marrying Clark in the episode before the final episode was weird, could just have Omega Oliver ruin the wedding and have them reschedule.. overall the ending to the final episode it one of the best I've seen in a tv series, other series have got worse endings so Season 10 8/10 Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/20/24 Full Review Andrius Y El gran final y vaya que lo e disfrutado ,aunque sea una serie llena de agujeros de guion ,conveniencias etc también es una serie hecha con el corazón una hermosa serie para fanáticos de superman y ver a Clark Kent con su desarrollo a lo largo de 10 temporadas fue muy gratificante , el punto que mas odie: la inclusión de Lionel Luthor de otra realidad , lo que mas disfrute fue sin dudas haber visto a Clark con su traje de superman junto al desbordante romance de Louis con Clark , ojala algún día tengamos una secuela de algún tipo. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/08/24 Full Review Leandro S Fechamento com chave de ouro. Muito boa. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/20/23 Full Review Ja K A Hallmark superhero series. Watched the whole long, long, and long series! Yikes where do I start... Clark is constantly whining about everything is his fault! That got old fast! The little lovey dovey throughout the series, tiring! Tons of Kryptonite around the whole town makes you wonder how Clark could even walk let alone run! Every show Clark is confronted with someone saving him from the green, blue, red, black, and yellow Kryptonite. Very little action compared to all the repetitious dialog. Writers need to think that the only ones watching have been for all ten years, and you don't need to keep rehashing the same dribble. DC has always loved kicking around this superhero, and this show exemplifies that every year! Granted there are parts that were special, and if you string them together it would make a great movie. The big payoff at the end wasn't much, Tom Welling didn't want to wear the costume, typical actor's whining. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/05/23 Full Review Read all reviews
