What to Know

Critics Consensus

Ten Percent is an inferior remake of its French inspiration, but a glossy roster of guest stars and budding ensemble chemistry hint that this office comedy can eventually recapture the magic.

Andrew Male Times (UK) It all feels wrong until you realise that meek cavilling is how London media types set about being ruthless, and suddenly the show reveals its teeth. Jul 8, 2022 Full Review Rachel Cooke New Statesman I will, somewhat grudgingly, be sticking with Ten Percent. It’ll just have to do until -- dépêchez-vous -- season five of Call My Agent! finally arrives. Jun 8, 2022 Full Review Matthew Gilbert Boston Globe It’s not bad, with a strong cast and a group of guest stars including Helena Bonham Carter and Kelly Macdonald who evoke some of the spirit -- if not the brutal satire -- of the original series. May 20, 2022 Full Review Martin Carr Yahoo! Movies Slick, stylised and polished in every sense, Ten Percent comes on like Extras with lashings of PR farce. May 21, 2023 Full Review Lynden Barber Limelight For this viewer, Ten Per Cent, while perfectly watchable, is not as strong as the French original, which, if you haven’t seen it, I’d recommend you watch first. May 31, 2022 Full Review Alberto Cox Délano Pajiba Here we have all the pieces of a great series: The dialogues are well written, the timing is correct and the performances are outstanding. But they don’t add up to an interesting whole, I guess because it’s not as effective as a satire as the original. May 20, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews

Niki M On its own merit it is a perfectly sweet and watchable comedy-drama about lives and loves in a London talent agency. But it lacks the astringency and complexity of the French original and the most interesting thing about it - famous people playing themselves and not always in a self-flattering way - is not original. Watch it, by all means. But do yourself a favour and watch the French version as well. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/09/23 Full Review Aleecia M OK but not as good as the French orignal. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/05/23 Full Review Audience Member We loved this series. Very touching and funny. It was an easy watch and wrapped up nicely in the end. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member This show is a great example of how appauling casting and poor scripts make you wonder how it ever got made . Jack Davenport is best left on stage so he can overact and hope no one noticies and the rest of the cast are instantly forgettable. the guest stars are poorly used and the storylines are infantile at best . Lets hope it doesn't make it to season 2 Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review ginger b Very funny. I actually prefer this to the French show that's so popular (maybe because I recognize more of the celebrity cameos). Sailed through all 8 episodes of Season 1. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member How is this being slated so much by viewers?! I don't understand… It's witty, satirical at times, dry, oddball, and full of relatable, real life drama. The casting is wonderful, and the guest stars work soooo well playing themselves. The reserved, pent-up, unsaid elements to each character build the tension, and often enhance and intensify the comedy… as well as the emotion. Really enjoyed this!
