This legal drama from executive producer Jerry Bruckheimer chronicles how a case is built from the perspectives of both the defense and the prosecution. Kathryn Peale and Jimmy Brogan have been friends since Yale Law School but now work for different teams -- Peale works in the New York State District Attorney's office while Brogan is one of New York's rising criminal attorney stars. They create two different stories from the same set of facts. It becomes evident through the cases that the truth has nothing to do with someone's innocence or guilt. What the jury believes is all that matters in a trial.

Critics Consensus

The Whole Truth attempts to put an new spin on the courtroom drama, but its overly speedy pace keeps the characters from coming into focus.

Scott Timberg The Hollywood Reporter The back-and-forth makes for pretty good television, ratcheting up the tension and giving a sense of the approach both sides will take in the trial. Jun 4, 2020 Full Review Brian Tallerico HollywoodChicago.com It may not close the case for season pass inclusion after its opening arguments but "The Whole Truth" does enough right to keep listening to the case Rated: 3.5/5 Jun 4, 2020 Full Review Maureen Ryan HuffPost Despite being a drama about lawyers, 'The Whole Truth' doesn't even begin to have the courage of its convictions. Sep 22, 2010 Full Review Anthony Ocasio Screen Rant While the promise of bringing something completely new to the legal procedural may have been a little off, it certainly provides a refreshing change of pace. Jun 4, 2020 Full Review Ed Bark Uncle Barky Bruckheimer invariably seems to prefer going at least a little over the top rather than depend on audiences to grasp anything resembling subtlety. Rated: C+ Jun 4, 2020 Full Review Melissa Camacho Common Sense Media This clever, well-written series follows each case by alternating points of view on the same story to reflect the different approaches and tactics employed by the defense and the prosecution.
