Shaun Murphy, a young surgeon with autism and savant syndrome, relocates from a quiet country life to join the surgical unit at the prestigious San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital -- a move strongly supported by his mentor, Dr. Aaron Glassman; having survived a troubled childhood, Shaun is alone in the world and unable to personally connect with those around him, but he finds his niche using his extraordinary medical skill and intuition to save lives and challenge the skepticism of his colleagues.

Brian F Loses all medical science and Shaun is an idiot all of a sudden. This show dropped off a cliff very quickly. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/20/25 Full Review matthias s "The Good Doctor Season 2" is a solid continuation of Dr. Shaun Murphy's journey. As someone with autism working in a hospital, I appreciate the show's portrayal of the challenges and triumphs of living with autism. Freddie Highmore's performance remains outstanding, and the character development is strong. Despite occasional melodrama, it's an engaging and heartfelt season, offering a nuanced view of autism and the medical field. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/19/24 Full Review Louise C During the second season I was not enjoying the series as much as the first. It seemed heavy at times, too much for the nature of this medical drama. There were some enjoyable parts to the storylines, too - just not enough for my liking. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/13/24 Full Review letaiser again .it is not bad and also made kind of fun to watch but there was just many things that were just repeating of the 1st season Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/20/23 Full Review Audience Member I have watched the 1st season. I am watching episode 7 of season 2. there are a LOT of things going on in here, and needless to say, I hardly understand anything medical discussed in the series, but I AM Hella ENJOYING it. The characters are moving forward with their lives beautifully, my favourite is, of course, Shaun Murphy followed by Glassy. Lea is beautiful. Claire's personality is just so real, her dilemmas are so intriguing. They keep me at the edge of my seat. I miss Jared, I hope he returns. Even Debbie left a mark on me. All the characters are truly living to me. The cast is very well taken, both the main characters and the patients. Initially, thought that I would get bored by watching this show, simply because none of what they said made sense to me. I relied on verbal cues i.e. the simple phrase they would put at the end of a diagnosis to make the general audience understand what exactly is happening. Even though that is exactly what I need to understand the show, I think it takes the fun out of the show and that they shouldn't do it so often and sometimes leave the audience on their own to figure out what is happening.
