Mary H I started out seeing this is just another reality show, like The Bachelorette, which in many cases is full of setups, but this series is not like that. It began to seem like really good fiction, only it's not fiction. I found myself taking an interest in the backstories and the dynamics between characters. I've watched four episodes so far, and it's as good as any rom-com, so I'll come back to it. It's interesting to note that Michelle Obama is one of the producers. Either overly sexy or a bit neurotic, mostly just over the top. The uber-sexy bunch seemed to really appeal to those hungry guys but, really? Where are the down to earth, kind, smart, regular gals to feature? They are surely out there and I'd better appreciate seeing their hopeful journeys to love. Touching, funny, fun........hope a 2nd Season is already in the works. Would love to see a Version of Later Daters to include people that have never married, have no children and are single. Different perspective. I find this much more palatable then the Golden Bachelor or Bachelorette. The approach of this show feels much fresher, more authentic, an understated 'class' to it. This was a heart-warming dating show that felt refreshing and relevant, putting a giant smile on my face. The Later Daters are vulnerable and real, reminding me of our shared flawed humanity. I'm also a Love Is Blind fan, but seeing real people dating in their mid-50s and above makes me happy. Highly recommended. Seriously, I could not stop watching!
