Based on the comic book series written by Robert Kirkman, this gritty drama portrays life in the months and years that follow a zombie apocalypse. A group of survivors travel in search of safety and security, constantly on the move in search of a secure home. But the pressure each day to stay alive sends many in the group to the deepest depths of human cruelty, and they soon discover that the overwhelming fear of the survivors can be more deadly than the zombies walking among them. At times, the interpersonal conflicts present a greater threat to their continuing survival than the walkers that roam the country.

Emily Hannemann St. Louis Post-Dispatch Much like updating to a new software on one's phone, Fear has been glitchy, confusing, and it crashes often. Jul 2, 2018 Full Review Emily St. James AV Club The Walking Dead is an occasionally brilliant, always audacious show that can never escape the pitfalls of its own success. Rated: B Mar 31, 2014 Full Review Neil Drumming Salon.com Maybe the cycle is not identical each time - Dead is on its fourth season - but the images of so many undead heads bursting like red grapes only help to blur the inflection points of the narrative together. Feb 17, 2014 Full Review Nathan Mattise Ars Technica The Walking Dead is beginning to fail its fans by neglecting an essential part of the zombie world. Jul 27, 2021 Full Review Jeff Beck Examiner.com While the fourth season of The Walking Dead once more has me on the fence with the show, I find this season easier to recommend than others for the improvements that were made, particularly in the above average first half. Rated: 3.5/5 Aug 25, 2014 Full Review Aaron Neuwirth The Young Folks The results were fairly solid, as it was heavy on reveals to some key questions and essentially speeds up the process. Chaos A 🏆92% The Walking Dead Season 4 is easily for me the best season so far, and it also has the highest peaks of the series so far! Since Season 3, my favorite character has been Carl, but even though Carl is still my favorite for now, Rick definitely might become my favorite later on. Rick’s character was incredible this season, especially in the season finale. This is definitely the biggest development we’ve seen from him in the series so far. His transformation into becoming more ruthless was amazing. This season we also got the conclusion to the Governor, which was amazing, the episode “Too Far Gone” is easily for me the best episode of the series thus far. Overall, Season 4 was great and definitely for me the best so far. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Season 5! EPISODES RANKED: 1. Too Far Gone 2. A 3. The Grove 4. Internment 5. After 6. Infected 7. Claimed 8. 30 Days Without an Accident 9. Isolation 10. Us 11. Indifference 12. Inmates 13. Live Bait 14. Dead Weight 15. Still 16. Alone Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/10/25 Full Review Pedro Henrique C Some episodes are good, others not so much, The Walking Dead Zombies are very slow, they need to run a little faster lol. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/05/25 Full Review SkyRo P In this review, I’m going to encapsulate my thoughts on the first seven seasons of The Walking Dead, which I've thoroughly enjoyed. The inaugural season was nothing short of phenomenal; it expertly developed the characters and wove an engaging narrative filled with unexpected twists that kept viewers riveted. The storytelling was complemented by remarkable character arcs, which allowed us to witness the harrowing reality of a world overrun by zombies. It was a season that truly kept you on the edge of your seat. The second season maintained that high standard, further expanding the world and allowing us to delve deeper into the characters’ lives. The sudden, heartbreaking deaths of beloved characters made us feel deeply invested in their journeys, often leaving us emotionally shattered. Yet, amidst the despair, there was a glimmer of hope that set the stage for the events to come in season three. As we moved into season three, new families and camps emerged, contributing to the series' rich world-building. This season demanded your full attention, as it was filled with intense moments that would leave you gasping. It’s remarkable how, even after three seasons, the show continued to captivate and engage its audience. Season four kept the momentum going with thrilling adventures, shocking deaths, and the introduction of new characters alongside our familiar favorites. The stakes were ever higher, and the unpredictability of each episode had us on a rollercoaster of emotions, wondering what fate awaited our beloved characters. It was an exhilarating season that left viewers eager for more. Seasons five and six mirrored each other in their ability to expand the plot while maintaining the audience's investment in the characters. The layers of complexity grew thicker, introducing creative new threats and moments of heart-wrenching sadness. Although season six experienced a slight dip in intensity, it remained engaging enough to keep viewers hooked through the series' first six installments. Moving into season seven, while it still contributed to the overarching narrative and continued to build this expansive world, it felt like the weakest link in the chain. Although it wasn’t a bad season, it lacked the spark of its predecessors and left me wondering if the series was at risk of losing its momentum. After completing season seven, I found myself hesitant to dive straight into season eight. I felt too invested to walk away, yet I needed a pause to ensure I wouldn’t start to sour on the franchise I had come to love. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/21/25 Full Review Brandon S As I said, the governor is my favorite TWD villain. 4x8 is my personal favorite episode of the show. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/20/25 Full Review Jakey B The first and last half of this season are very distinct but equally exceptional and all together make for a more grounded, riveting and character focused season. The first half focuses on concluding the previous season that ends on a phenomenal mid-season finale that moves the story somewhere more uncertain and thrilling, then the final half does an excellent job of structuring many storylines and characters to single episodes, leading to a solid cliff hanger. Does do a lot of slow building yet its better because its just as much of a harrowing drama than it is a zombie action horror. 9.7/10 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/16/24 Full Review Big R awesome yessssss best ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
