This fast-paced and stunt-filled motor show tests whether cars, both mundane and extraordinary, live up to their manufacturers' claims; the long-running show travels to locations around the world, performing extreme stunts and challenges to see what the featured cars are capable of doing; celebrity guests appear on some episodes to help test the vehicles; things don't always go as planned, though, with broken bones and mechanical mishaps sometimes part of the experiments; Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May hosted the show for more than a decade before giving way to a new crew in 2016, including Chris Harris, Paddy McGuinness and Freddie Flintoff.

Deborah Ross The Mail on Sunday (UK) This just feels like a poor imitation. It's time for the BBC to ditch it, truly. Rated: 1/5 Jun 24, 2019 Full Review Sean O'Grady Independent (UK) Watching Top Gear was always a bit like having to sit through someone else's holiday home movies. Rated: 2/5 Jun 17, 2019 Full Review Carol Midgley Times (UK) It was better than expected because you could believe this trio were real mates, even though you knew it was a TV Tinder date. Thus far I rather "likey", but since I am definitely not the traditional, hardcore audience, that might not bode well. Rated: 4/5 Jun 17, 2019 Full Review Kevin Yeoman Screen Rant For now, it's the beginning of a new era of Top Gear, one that will hopefully last long enough for the series to feel as distinct and entertaining as it has in the past. Jul 15, 2019 Full Review Christopher Stevens Daily Mail (UK) This format died when Chris Evans took over. Now it's zombified. Surely the BBC execs hurling money at it, with the trio enjoying a lengthy junket to Ethiopia, must see that this is undead TV. Rated: 1/5 Jun 17, 2019 Full Review Ed Power Irish Times Flintoff and McGuinness are by no means Formula One-grade banterers - but they're revving up nicely. And Top Gear may not be for the scrap heap just yet. Jun 17, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member Childish drivel. Not a car show anymore. I miss Matt and Rory. At least they knew something about cars. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Humorous new take on a car show. No where close to the original but I thoroughly enjoyed it and, the best reboot they've had. Hope the BBC keep it! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review nick k Boring, with nice cinematography Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Much better than the few previous series. These three have great potential, and I can't wait to see what they do next. But, please stop bullying Chris Harris so much lol. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member While Chris Harris is good, even improving since series 26, Rory is ok in a reduced role, and there's never enough Sabine, Freddie and Paddy just don't work for me at all. Between the current producers misinterpreting the old pranking as the new bullying and the brutally thick accent that has to be an absolute pain in the arse for most outside of thew UK, so far the new personalities and this season are a fail. Just not a fan of frat boy bullying and needing subtitles for Top Gear. Season 26 finally felt like they were finally getting back to the right feel for the show, then the jumped the shark with season 27. So sad. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member We have recaptured that old may hammond and clams on cemistry Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
