This fast-paced and stunt-filled motor show tests whether cars, both mundane and extraordinary, live up to their manufacturers' claims; the long-running show travels to locations around the world, performing extreme stunts and challenges to see what the featured cars are capable of doing; celebrity guests appear on some episodes to help test the vehicles; things don't always go as planned, though, with broken bones and mechanical mishaps sometimes part of the experiments; Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May hosted the show for more than a decade before giving way to a new crew in 2016, including Chris Harris, Paddy McGuinness and Freddie Flintoff.

Carol Midgley Times (UK) Maybe it's because I'm a northerner, but I enjoyed watching this in its ordinariness more than any flashy, budget-burning foreign jaunt that always make me wince at the extravagance. Rated: 3/5 Oct 8, 2020 Full Review Sean O'Grady Independent (UK) I had low expectations of Top Gear... The show exceeds them. Rated: 3/5 Oct 5, 2020 Full Review James Croot The Post NZ Despite the necessary concessions made to Covid-19, it still provides plenty of thrills, spills, pranks and pant-wettingly funny moments. Jan 15, 2021 Full Review Alison Rowat The Herald (Scotland) The motoring show is now 18 years old, several heads taller than you, eating you out of house and home, and demanding a key to the door. It has no chance of the latter. Oct 12, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews
