When Dr. Bashir Hamed, a charismatic Syrian doctor with battle-tested skills in emergency medicine, flees his war-torn homeland, he and his younger sister become refugees, struggling to forge a new life in Canada. If Bash ever wants to be a doctor again, he must redo his medical training from the ground up. He scores a residency in the biggest Emergency Department of the best hospital in Toronto, but it's a tough road. Bash's training is different, his life experience is different and he's not an exact match for his new colleagues. But his journey is universal, and his passion and hopefulness become contagious.

y y The new female ER boss is an error. Her frequent fights with other people don't work as drama. Her talk like a boss and talk like a peer fighting moves are dull blades. She alienates people. The arrogant and selfish new pale blonde female doctor is an unsympathetic damp squib. Having Theo screw up and June cut herself are more missteps. The psychiatrist is a strong addition. There were some good scenes again. The last episode was weak. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/20/24 Full Review Jessica R I love this show.. however I'm sorry but how come Bashir can speak his first language but not Mags? It pisses me off that he speaks his language but when her family visits she has to speak English instead of French?
