Westworld isn't your typical amusement park. Intended for rich vacationers, the futuristic park -- which is looked after by robotic "hosts" -- allows its visitors to live out their fantasies through artificial consciousness. No matter how illicit the fantasy may be, there are no consequences for the park's guests, allowing for any wish to be indulged. "Westworld" is based on the 1973 Michael Crichton movie of the same name and features an all-star cast.

s.e. smith Bitch Media Instead of being an authentic exploration and critique of white supremacy, Westworld only enforces it. Mar 11, 2021 Full Review Eric Deggans NPR It's not yet clear, despite the quality acting and special effects in this "Westworld," that the story offers anything new. Nov 26, 2019 Full Review Hugo Rifkind Times (UK) Amid actual cowboys and robots, it had a plot that made you sit up and try. Oct 18, 2018 Full Review Peter Counter That Shelf Westworld has all the action, adventure, and intrigue of the ideal Western film, but that's all a veneer for tourists, under which lies a rich maze of philosophy, science fiction, and genre criticism. Aug 12, 2024 Full Review Kshitij Rawat The Indian Express While Crichton's classic was meant to be a fast-paced entertainer, HBO's Westworld pauses to reflect upon deeper philosophical conundrums, with disaster simmering underneath. Mar 9, 2021 Full Review Kelechi Ehenulo Confessions From A Geek Mind Whilst the series is a re-imagining and inspired by the 1973 cult classic film, Westworld the TV series certainly stamps its own authority with beautiful and intelligent concepts not too dissimilar from our own existence and reality. Chris E An absolutely incredible watch. It’s a must watch for everyone at some point in their lives. It does get pretty gritty so be warned. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/08/25 Full Review Roger M If you enjoy a story and character driven narrative and incredible acting, you'll love it. If you require an explosion once per minute to maintain your attention, you won't. If you want a happy ending that ties everything up into a pretty bow, watch Beauty and the Beast. If you want something edgier that leaves a knot in your stomach and has you walking away questioning the nature of man, this might be for you. Season 1 was a masterpiece. Season 2 was an incredible disappointment (different writers? what the hell happened?) and I decided against even watching seasons 3 and 4. Season 1 leaves you wanting more, Season 2 makes you regret asking for it. Personally, I think this was perhaps Anthony Hopkins' finest work... and that is saying something. Great supporting cast and writing as well. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/15/24 Full Review Clifford P I really wanted to like this series but was bored every minute this disaster of a series dragged on. I kept watching with the hope that it would improve but it actually got worse. Don’t bother. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 07/20/24 Full Review Prim - Of all the trash on TV these days, you canceled this series. Sure it went down hill a bit in later seasons but it was still better than most stuff on TV. Made no sence. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/14/24 Full Review Jarred D This is clearly going to write itself into a corner. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/24/24 Full Review Gareth v A fantastic re-imagining of the classic cult film. Beautifully shot, layered and with enough twists to keep you coming back for more, this is one of TV's best show from 2016. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/03/24 Full Review Read all reviews
