White House Plumbers gets clogged up by its overstuffed adherence to real history, but with actors this appealing and material that truly is stranger than fiction, it flushes down easy enough.

Christian Holub Entertainment Weekly White House Plumbers thus tells a clear, coherent story about a famous event in American history, and at just five episodes there's not much bloat to complain of. Rated: B- Dec 20, 2023 Full Review Nick Hilton Independent (UK) White House Plumbers is not deadly serious. It is a farce that recognises the Watergate scandal as a political tragedy that has acquired the requisite historical distance to turn it into amiable, if not electric, comedy. Rated: 3/5 Jun 1, 2023 Full Review Ed Power Daily Telegraph (UK) Americans may find it depressing – but for everyone else, it is a period hoot begging to be binged. Rated: 4/5 May 31, 2023 Full Review Dónal Lynch Sunday Independent (Ireland) I would say most viewers will have long since tapped out and this is a rare flop from HBO’s hit factory. Jan 29, 2024 Full Review Bill Brioux Brioux.tv Aside from the speculative nature of the portrayals of Hunt and Liddy, White House Plumbers sticks quite rigorously to the facts. At just five episodes, it’s well worth your time if you’re into history, politics and wild and crazy characters. Aug 18, 2023 Full Review Michael Clark Epoch Times While “Plumbers” offers up nothing previously unknown about Watergate, it does so from a different angle and through a lens that points out its overall comic uselessness. Torin F WHITE HOUSE PLUMBERS brings exceptional comedic chops to the Watergate scandal, creating an elevated satirical political drama capable of accommodating the many stranger-than-fiction details of this major historical episode. At five episodes, this series operates with an efficiency that the perpetrators never managed, but does drag a bit in the last installment as it tries to survey the scandal's political import while also detailing the fallout for the principal characters. Still, a memorably entertaining limited series overall. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 09/22/24 Full Review Benjamin H A political satirical drama that is accurately portrayed while also demonstrating a jazzy, campy and sometimes exaggerated behavior, White House Plumbers may not tackle the full scope of the real-life scandal and has a bit lackluster writing, but it is a pretty fascinating and well-packed miniseries that also displays good lead performances. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/20/23 Full Review Radamez N Es una un tanto calmosa, sin muchos momentos de climax y para un público que le gustan mucho de estos temas. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 09/11/23 Full Review fred v One episode of this over-acted farce was enough. It gets an extra star because Lena Headey is in it... Rated 2 out of 5 stars 09/08/23 Full Review jeff i After reading other reviews, maybe I should have viewed this as a comedy. Although I didn't think it was funny. The acting was over done, especially Woody Harrelson, who I really enjoy so much before. The writing was awful, the plot contrived. I lasted one episode on an overseas plane ride, willing to watch anything to pass the time. But not this. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/26/23 Full Review Jack M Sometimes I wonder if anyone is watching anything anymore without looking at their phones. Because this show is a riot, and it's the setups that make the landings so funny, but you have to be present or it doesn't work. A perfect comedy duo, and very fun to enter a world where not everyone who experienced success in our country back in the day was the brightest bulb on the tree. And shoutout to Woody Harrelson who's the gift that keeps on giving. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/18/23 Full Review Read all reviews
