Celebrated chefs mentor amateur cooks in an attempt to transform them from rookies to kitchen experts. Twelve to 16 contestants (referred to as "recruits") with very poor cooking skills are put through a culinary boot camp to earn a cash prize of $25,000 and a Food Network cooking set. The recruits are trained on the various basic cooking techniques, including baking, knife skills, temperature, seasoning and preparation. The final challenge is to cook a restaurant-quality, three-course meal for three food critics.

suzanne j so far it's a joke……tiffany derry is annoying….not sure where they're getting the characters to compete…..but 90% of the ‘contestants' are clowns vying to see who can be more ridiculous than previous one…..it's no longer about teaching a group of bad cooks the basics of cooking……but a contest to see who can be the most outrageous…..the few that actually are trying to get better & are making progress get eliminated over the clowns that just want their 15 minutes of fame….now it's a train wreck……i used to really enjoy worst cooks…..and i keep hoping each new season returns to it's original concept…..sadly it just keeps getting worse….tiffany & the clown contestants just prove that worst cooks has become a huge joke and has run it's course…… Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/10/24 Full Review Audience Member I am done watching celebrity edition. Jodie was robbed. Her dishes had minor errors. First dish. Tracey's was, the tomatoes, were really salty. Too much pancetta. Perfect lobster, hardest part? Jodie's was missing freshness, I guess pickled veggies aren't fresh. The halloumi was perfect. Second dish. Jodie's meat was perfect, edge to edge pink, very difficult. Crust needed salt, I'm sure Jodie salted but it was a thick piece of meat, so judges said it NEEDED salt. Sweet potatoes were stars. Tracie's meat was over cooked but juicy. Apparently, overlooked over cook. Seasoned well. Potatoes cut on the mandolin without losing a finger. Third dish. Jodie's was perfect except for the white chocolate on the popcorn left fatty taste on the palette. Tracey's had balance with fruit. Love custard. The crust was thick and doughy. Brule was burnt. Let's give Tracey the benefit of the doubt and say they each won a round. The tie should have been broken in round 3. Jodie won dessert and the competition.
