I enjoyed XO, Kitty, sometimes some episodes were a bit boring and/or a bit too unrealistic, but I found it to be enjoyable overall!

I feel bad for the young actors - particularly Anna Cathcart - because they are such talented gems who had good character development in s1, only to be given the worst hand of scripts this season... coming off essentially as "caricatures" of themselves. (Yes, we know Minho is a snob who likes collagen water and worries about skincare but bringing that up every 5 seconds gets really old, really fast). And the new characters didn't have much time to step into an introduction-- Lee, for example, is announced as "the quintessential bully" in only a 30-second dialogue exchange, and we're just supposed to sit back and decide to hate this character, too. And regarding the story agenda... I could practically read the words "Minho and Kitty = SOULMATES!" written on the creator/showrunner's post-it notes decorating their office... because the dramatic pining and romcom-cliche-heavy scenes (and all the LaraJean/Peter parallels from To All The Boys) left almost no room for originality and came at the cost of other amazing characters' screentime, not to mention the development for an openly-bisexual character like Kitty.
Overall, the writing quality between s1 and s2 took a major cringe-heavy turn. Who knows if it's due to the shorter number of episodes or the larger cast of characters and plot points that needed attention, but the dialogue was painfully expository at times and characters often sounded like they were spewing information faster than disclaimers in radio commercials. To me, it felt like ChatGPT got involved somewhere in the process, and I sincerely hope they re-prioritize good, emotionally-captivating writing in the next season.

Season 2 is step up. All the characters are developing and the plot is fast paced. Loved that they give more screen time to kitty and Min ho. Hope they keep going in this direction in S3. Not quite Heart stopper but a good runner up. Let's hope Netflix renew soon.

Another season of the tangled, tumultuous, thorny love triangle(?) returns! 'To All The Boys I Loved Before' fan favourite: Peter Kavnisky makes an appearance, as an additional and fun feature in the second season to comfort and console our ambivalent Kitty. The originally planned "drama-free" semester is quickly overthrown by the new faces, family drama and complicated crushes that emerge rapidly - as we all know Kitty is not a patient one! Her Korean heritage continues to unfold as never-before-seen relatives make an appearance, uncovering more of the mystery behind her complicated past. The series consists of new love interests and the inevitable turmoil of before-seen relationships. Minho, our dreamy, flirty, beloved, primary love interest who was previously left heart-broken by Kitty at the end of the first season has made his return to K.I.S.S to address his feelings and face their reality. Whilst Dae is left still attempting to accept his break-up, trying to get back out on the dating field - however short-lived! We continue to see different romantic and platonic relationships flourish - and fail. Would recommend for anyone who enjoyed the first season or for someone who loves a cosy night in with a teen-girl orientated show that will have you yelling at the TV. Awaiting season 3!

covey is back in korea, and with the help of two familiar faces, she finally discovers more about her family and roots. teen drama all around, more immersion into the korean culture and a love (triangle?!) form! i’m rooting for min ho, but his family drama was a little too much for me this season. stella is a no-go, they did yuri, julianna and praveena so wrong and accused kitty of nonsensical stuff, and i really would have wished to see more or alex and lee. a decent enough continuation, but not the best sequel out there!
