Chuck Ranberg

Chuck Ranberg has never lacked for work as a TV writer-producer since his beginnings in the late 1980s on "Kate & Allie," the breezy CBS sitcom co-starring Susan Saint-James and Jane Curtin. But in terms of critical and industry accolades, one credit towers above the rest on Ranberg's resume--the Kelsey Grammer comedy "Frasier." Between '95 and '97, the scintillating Seattle-based spin-off of "Cheers" earned Ranberg five primetime Emmy Awards. He won three for producing the show and two for writing individual episodes. As a producer, the other major highlight for Ranberg has been a stint helping oversee a season of the Sunday night ABC smash "Desperate Housewives." Additional writing credits encompass everything from "Becker," an underrated comedy starring Grammer's former Boston bar-mate Ted Danson, and "Hot in Cleveland," the 2010 comeback vehicle designed for Valerie Bertinelli.
