Jean Desailly

Jean Desailly was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Desailly started his acting career landing roles in such films as "Le Baron de l'Ecluse" (1960), "The Grand Maneuver" (1956) and "Royal Affairs in Versailles" (1957) with Claudette Colbert. He was nominated for a BAFTA Award for "Inspector Maigret" in 1959. He kept working in film throughout the sixties and the seventies, starring in "The Soft Skin" (1964), the crime feature "Comptes A Rebours" (1971) with Serge Reggiani and "Un Flic" (1972). He also appeared in the Richard Burton historical feature "The Assassination of Trotsky" (1972). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in the comedy "Je te tiens, tu me tiens par la Barbichette" (1979) with Mimi Coutelier, "Le Professionnel" (1981) and "Le Fou du Roi" (1984). He also appeared in the Michel Volta drama "Equipe de nuit" (1988) and "Les Tisserands du pouvoir" (1988). Desailly most recently acted in the comedy "La Dilettante" (1999) with Catherine Frot.
