Jonathan Davis

Jonathan Davis, born on January 18, 1971, in Bakersfield, California, was the lead vocalist and frontman of the nu-metal band Korn. He grew up in a musical family, with his father being a keyboardist for Buck Owens and Frank Zappa. Davis' early life was marked by experiences of bullying and alienation, which later influenced his musical style and lyrics. He began his music career as the lead vocalist for the group Sexart before joining Korn in 1993. With Korn, Davis became known for his unique vocal style, which combined aggressive and emotional elements. The band's debut album in 1994, followed by albums like "Follow the Leader" (1998) and "Issues" (1999), propelled them to international fame, making them one of the flagship bands of the nu-metal genre. A multi-instrumentalist, Davis played piano, guitar, drums, clarinet, violin and was also notable for playing bagpipes, which he incorporated into some of Korn's music. Following the success of Korn, Davis and his bandmates made several cameo appearances in television and film including an episode of "South Park" (Comedy Central, 1997- ) and "Monk" (USA Network, 2002-09). Around 2007, Davis formed the group Jonathan Davis and the SFA, releasing two live albums. After the death of his bandmate Shane Gibson in 2014, Jonathan Davis released his first solo album, "Black Labyrinth" (2018).
