Kris Jenner
Born and raised in southern California, Kris Jenner's life was out of the spotlight for the first few decades. She married lawyer Robert Kardashian in 1978 and the couple had four kids over the next few years. While they divorced in 1991, they remained co-parents and friends, especially during the O.J. Simpson trial where he was the defendant's lawyer. Months after her divorce with Kardashian, she married Olympic athlete Bruce Jenner (now known as Caitlyn Jenner). All was relatively quiet for the next decade as Jenner raised her family, which now included Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, and Rob from her first marriage as well as Kendall and Kylie from her second. In the early 2000s, Jenner formed the production company Jenner Communications and began to formulate the idea for a television that would follow the lives and escapades of her family. In 2007, "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" (E! 2007- ) debuted and despite a critical drubbing, the reality show quickly became one of the most popular TV shows of the day, even more so as it has become the longest running reality show ever. Jenner helped shepherd the Kardashian-starring media, as she worked with her family to get a variety of spinoffs on the air including "Kourtney and Kim Take Miami" (E! 2009-2013), "Kourtney and Kim Take New York" (E! 2011-12), "Khloé & Lamar" (E! 2011-12), "Rob & Chyna" (E! 2016), and "Life of Kylie" (E! 2017). While none of the spinoffs last all that long, the main show has continued to be successful. Jenner even tried her hand at a daily talk show with "Kris" (Fox 2013), though the show only lasted for a trial period.
