Scott Gordon
Scott Gordon began his career as a sound engineer and mixer for some of the biggest rock bands in the world, and he eventually developed into an award-winning TV and film composer whose credits span everything from documentaries to prime-time dramas. During the '80s and '90s, Gordon worked as a recording studio engineer for high-profile musicians like Alanis Morrissette and Ringo Starr, the latter of which introduced him to fellow composers Marc and Steffan Fantini; the trio later formed the production company Triad Music as a way to transition from the music industry to the film industry. Gordon earned his first film credits on low-budget films like the L.A. crime thriller "Genuine Risk," and in 2005, he joined the Fantinis as a series composer on the procedural drama "Criminal Minds." In addition to co-writing the program's signature theme song, Gordon has written music for nearly every episode of the hit series, which follows a group of FBI agents as they track and analyze criminal behavior patterns. He next worked on the TV mini-series "A House Divided," about the tensions between a small farming community and the U.S. government, and composed a haunting score for the post-Hurricane Katrina documentary "Walking on Dead Fish." Gordon has since served as a main composer on the popular Lifetime series "Army Wives" and worked on the indie romantic comedy "Camille."
