      Whenever a film franchise like "Nightmare on Elm Street" hits it big, there is room for TV spinoffs, but not always in ways that are conventional. Scott White essentially began his career as a TV line producer watching over the 1988-'90 Warner Bros.-Lorimar syndicated offering "Freddy's Nightmares." Although it starred movie original bad guy Robert Englund, it was designed for--and largely consumed by--viewers in international markets. In the mid-'90s, White went the opposite way with "Fudge," an ABC kids' show based on several young adult novel series by Judy Blume. His stint on the show as coordinating producer was another career rung climbed, on the way to landing on the hit CBS drama "Without a Trace" in '02, for seven years. He was first a unit production manager, but quickly rose to the rank of executive producer. In '10, White co-produced a half-dozen episodes of the USA drama, "Burn Notice." White has also segued back into TV directing, where he dabbled in the mid-'90s, via episodes of "Without a Trace" and "CSI: NY."
