In a Disney animation classic, Dalmatian Pongo is tired of his bachelor-dog life. He spies lovely Perdita and maneuvers his master, Roger, into meeting Perdita's owner, Anita. The owners fall in love and marry, keeping Pongo and Perdita together too. After Perdita gives birth to a litter of 15 puppies, Anita's old school friend Cruella De Vil wants to buy them all. Roger declines her offer, so Cruella hires the criminal Badun brothers to steal them -- so she can have a fur coat.

"One Hundred and One Dalmatians" is a nice, family movie mainly featuring stolen puppies and taking a whole village to rescue them. We definitely feel for the family, and the adventurous stakes are felt. The characters are distinct visually and personality-wise, as each of the puppies are named after a trait. Cruella De Vil is an iconic villain with a catchy theme song and luscious fur coat to boot.

A movie for dog lovers. This movie is the dawn of Disney’s Xerox style of animation, which I am not a fan of, and that lasted until “The Little Mermaid” in 1989. Cruella de Vil is a great villain with a great design, but she is the most memorable part of the movie. The story is simple, and that might be my problem with it, that it is too simple.
