      Critics Consensus

As history, Oliver Stone's JFK is dubious, but as filmmaking it's electric, cramming a ton of information and excitement into its three-hour runtime and making great use of its outstanding cast.

Ethan L Fantastic storytelling, acting and characters that manage to keep me glued to a dialogue-heavy 3-hour movie. Definitely a favourite. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/02/24 Full Review Beau L One of the most underrated historical dramas ever. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 12/18/23 Full Review matthias s Stone's direction is powerful and the film is expertly crafted, combining archival footage, reenactments, and fictionalized scenes to create a compelling narrative. The performances are very strong, with Costner delivering a standout turn as the determined and principled Garrison. One of the strengths of the film is its ability to raise important questions about the assassination and the official version of events. However, some critics have argued that Stone takes too many liberties with the facts and indulges in conspiracy theories. However, i still think that this movie is way to long and could've been an even greater mini series. In conlusion, JFK is a well-made and engrossing film that raises important questions about one of the defining moments in American history, but it can be divisive due to its interpretation of the facts. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/28/23 Full Review Alerik A The movie not only tells the EMOTION of the day in November 22, 1963, it also tells us the science of the injuries of what happened that day. Along with proving there has to be more than one gunman. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/17/23 Full Review Cody W After three and a half hours of testimony, chaos, and incredible history, all that I can say is this: wow! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/25/23 Full Review Kai K The movie had many different twists and discoveries, but many of the monologue scenes went on for a long time. Adam Nayman The Ringer One of the most frenetically edited studio movies ever made, JFK is a paradox, a movie of unstoppable velocity that seems to drag on forever. Mar 27, 2020 Full Review Duane Byrge Hollywood Reporter While Stone has certainly stirred up the waters, with good conscience and, in JFK's own parlance, "with vigah," most people are likely to regard JFK as BS. Dec 20, 2016 Full Review Noel Murray The Dissolve Even aside from what it's saying, and even with the many, many forced moments, JFK has a mad genius about it. Rated: 4/5 Nov 12, 2013 Full Review Rachel Wagner Rachel's Reviews (YouTube) A gripping thriller that will have you convinced of what happened Feb 19, 2024 Full Review Eddie Harrison film-authority.com …Stone’s film has more meat on the bone than most of the craven daily, ever-changing alibis used by the guilty to conceal their insurrectionist actions in 2023… Rated: 4/5 Nov 8, 2023 Full Review Zita Short InSession Film You might not agree with Stone but you have to admire the filmmaking craft on display here and some elements of Garrison’s argument make sense.
