Audience Member Crappy film about crappy people doing bad things to each other. Watchable garbage and wouldn't want to see again. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Was halfway through the movie before I even realized it, but it still ended up being an interesting watch. Almost comes off like a short story. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member The middle class imagination conjures up a London ghetto with predictably embarrassing results. Avoid unless you are in the mood for pantomime with all of the jokes removed. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member Sugarhouse was a satisfactory crime flick. The story wasn't as deep as it could have been, some more characters would have intensified things. The characters that were in the story were well designed, the performers executed their roles superbly. However, it felt like the director was trying to set up an extremely complex story, which was a bummer because the plot ended up being quite plain. The sets were well used to tell the story, the cat-and-mouse thing was well done but as I said it lacked depth. A zig-zag of a chase is not enough to constitute a good story. Still, the dialogue was strong and I liked how Tom and D awkwardly bonded as the story progressed. Overall a decent watch. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member It was an ok movie but I don't want to see it again, it starred Andy Serkis, but I don't want it on DVD, I expected better than that, it was directed by Gary Love, it also starred Steven Mackintosh Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member The only reason I liked this a little bit was because the crackhead played by Ashley Walters made me piss myself! Derek Elley Variety Three good actors get hijacked by a talky, pointless script. Aug 28, 2007 Full Review Derek Malcolm London Evening Standard The film, in the end, looks very much like an adaptation of one of those preachy plays that tries too hard to tell it like it is among the underclass. Rated: 2/5 Aug 24, 2007 Full Review Anthony Quinn Independent (UK) In Gary Love's determinedly gritty Brit-crim movie, three good actors chase around a script that keeps promising more than it delivers. Aug 24, 2007 Full Review Rich Cline Shadows on the Wall Strains so hard to establish some sort of rough street cred that it ends up feeling artificial. Rated: 2/5 Aug 24, 2007 Full Review Stuart McGurk thelondonpaper Directed by Gary Love, early shots promise much but it never delivers. Essentially a Play For Today, with more crack and a syrupy ending you can see coming. Rated: 2/5 Aug 24, 2007 Full Review The Sun (UK) The script invokes sympathy for the characters only at the end - and by then the audience will probably have ceased to care.
