Crowley, the film's main character and narrator, is ironically it's undoing. It's hard to figure out what Underwood is trying to bring across with this, his second successfully directed film. All in all, Rhames and Bijoux Phillips at least make this a watchable film despite a horrible "performance" from Crowley. From the lame imitation-<i>Goodfellas</i> voice over to the basic story arch, there is nothing new in this film. The four friends are colorless and until the predictable end aren't different enough from one another to make them discernible characters. Overall, this film is a maudlin, cliched waste of time.
