Geoffrey Macnab Independent (UK) 89 strikes a nice line between sporting bombast and self-deprecating humour. Rated: 3/5 Nov 15, 2017 Full Review Peter Bradshaw Guardian A pleasantly nostalgic documentary, maybe chiefly for fans. Rated: 3/5 Nov 9, 2017 Full Review PJ Nabarro Patrick Nabarro A genuinely illuminating football documentary, with something in it for the die-hard Arsenal fan, as well as a wider football supporter. Rated: 3/5 Aug 8, 2020 Full Review Brian Viner Daily Mail (UK) Even if you don't follow the Gunners, it's a thoroughly enjoyable film celebrating an era before the Premier League shifted the goalposts. Leaburn O The lovely thing about this feel good documentary is how it transports is back to the pre Premier League days. It sounds platitudinous to say that the game was more pure back then but actually the bond between the players that you can see remains to this day is probably not going to be repeated again. Without wanting to sound jingoistic, these were a group of young English men who played football and drank together every weekend and then achieved the most remarkable finish to a league season ever and the rapport they've retained is great. The documentary does a good job of showcasing that late 80s atmosphere in society. I really enjoyed this one. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/12/23 Full Review Audience Member A straightforward, but still gripping and emotional (at least for this Arsenal fan) documentary retelling the story of the most dramatic and unlikely race for an English League Championship - against the backdrop of one of the sport's darkest days. Although I'm very familiar with the story, it's still an affecting and entertaining watch, and it's good to hear from many of the Arsenal people involved (and the referee of that last game). Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review s r A great telling of a historic soccer season for Arsenal. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Despite not being an Arsenal fan, this is a decent bit of nostalgia, plenty of humor and a little bit of poignancy.
