Audience Member The documentary does a good job on "showing" just how much waste is being put into our oceans and how marine life is affected. We can see whales, all types of smaller fish, dolphins and birds being impacted by the amount of plastic that is present in our oceans. There is a scene where a bird is chocking on a piece of plastic and it was really gruesome to see how much that tiny bird threw it all out and how giant the piece of plastic was. The overall environmental message that is being promoted in this documentary is to understand the major crisis present and to put action in reducing the amount of waste being thrown negligently into the ocean because other creatures suffer from it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Eitan D Another important environmental movie about the hazards of plastics an dhow we're shitting in our backyard Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/16/21 Full Review Audience Member - A Plastic Ocean is showing us how our use of plastic impacts the ocean and organisms living in the ocean. I was having a good time watching it at the beginning where Craig Leeson talks about his childhood stories about how he got interest in the whales. But Sadly, the moment he dive in and I saw the plastic, oil is every where on the surface, I then fully understand the message of this document. However, the main message here is not only alarming the desperate stage of our environment now, it also calls out for help and improvement. There are many people, many organizations who are trying their best every day to reduce the amount of waste. With this being said, what matters the most is to take action, don't wait until its too late. - The environmental message of this documentary is impressively accurate and heartbreaking a the same time. Plastics are very harmful to the environment and all living organism not just under the water but also above. Thanks to this documentary, I was able to learn so many important aspect this documentary brings. It has a huge negative effect our daily life too. From the food like fishes and salt, the air pollution (of course) which then causes many diseases. Imagine you are eating the fish who has plastic in the stomach and you're eating that plastic? Sadly, even with the messages delivered from this documentary, people don't seem to change the way they waste plastic. In fact, the documentary has a very directed message, he just dives in the sea and sees whole bunch of plastic, and there shows people are good with ignorance instead of taking responsibly and improvement. I highly recommend this document! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member This documentary was very informative for me. I truly thought I knew the extent of pollution in our oceans and the animals that suffer from it, but this film made me think again. It covered sea life like the Elusive blue Whale, the Pygmy blue Whale and many others taking place in the Indian Ocean. The film showed many areas in the Indian Ocean with lots of pollution including oil, nets, wires, plastic boxes and so much more. What saddened me the most was watching the Brydes Whale suffer and die from having six square meters of plastic sheeting in its stomach. Its digestive system was blocked and died from malnourishment, being unable to eat due to the plastic blockage. Seals were seen with plastic rings around their necks, as well as dolphins with plastic bags around their snouts. It was so sad to see, but such a great documentary to watch because it truly shows you how bad humans are affecting our sea life. It takes you in depth and personal to how our sea life is truly living on a daily basis. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member The environmental message of this documentary is impactful. Plastics are a toxic substance that are harmful to the environment and living organisms. I learned so many important messages from this film. It affects the food chain, the air pollution, our health, diseases, and contributes to the demise of many important and/or endangered species. The sad part is, the use of single use plastics isn't going away anytime soon and many people don't seem to care or prefer not to be inconvenienced to change their habits by this problem. It's heartbreaking. 10/10, I highly recommend this documentary. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member A very necessary film. Stop and see what we're doing - how many animals are dying for our convenience. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
