      camille l Avec Aaltra, Benoît Delépine et Gustave Kervern proposent un road movie cynique où deux handicapés moteurs se retrouvent sur les routes jusqu'en Finlande pour aller se faire payer des dommages et intérêts pour un freak accident. S'ensuit alors une suite de sketches plus ou moins drôles, constamment pathétiques et qui reposent quasi totalement sur la qualité des guests stars venus se montrer. Benoît Poelvoorde et Bouli Lanners, par exemple, sont vraiment excellents. Mais là où Aaltra semble être quelque chose de différent, ces deux-là ne font que ce qu'on attend d'eux et c'est là où réside le souci d'Aaltra. Tout ce qui est censé être original n'est qu'une suite d'éléments attendus et plus pathétiques que réellement satisfaisants. Als ich Aaltra für unsere Videothek auspackte, kannte ich nur eine Person, die den Film gesehen hatte: Meinen Partner Skulli. Ich legte die DVD rein und ein Bild genügte: Aaltra war definitiv etwas für mich! Gefilmt in körnigem Schwarzweiss, mit langen ruhigen Einstellungen und lauten Lachern - die sich schliesslich in ein Gefühl von Heiterkeit verwandelten. Gemacht wurde Aaltra von zwei Belgiern, Benoît Delépine und Gustave de Kervern, die auch gleich die Hauptrollen übernahmen. Aaltra ist aber nicht nur lustig und politisch unkorrekt, sondern auch wundervoll konstruiert. Jede Szene zeigt, dass hier zwei Connoisseure bei der Arbeit bestaunt werden dürfen! Die beiden Komödianten beweisen ein Gespür dafür, wo die Kamera platziert werden muss, die Szenen wirken visuell vielschichtig und enden dann, wenn die Pointe zündet. Delépine spielt einen Motocross Fanatiker, der seine Arbeit verlor und von seiner langweiligen Gattin sitzen gelassen wurde. De Kervern, sein Nachbar, ist ein übel launiger Bauer. Beide geraten aneinander, prügeln sich auf einer Mähmaschine der Firma Aaltra. Ein Hebel wird in Gang gesetzt, der beiden die Beine abklemmt. Im Rollstuhl entwickeln sich die bösen Nachbarn zu noch schlechteren Menschen. Sie eint die Vorstellung, dass die Firma Aaltra für diesen Unfall Schmerzensgeld zahlen muss und deshalb rollen sie Richtung Finnland. Delépines düsteres Gesicht verzieht sich zu nackter Verzweiflung, De Kervern sieht aus wie ein erloschener alter Hippie. Aaltra beginnt regelrecht zu schweben, indem er seiner hasserfüllten Ideologie folgt. Die beiden Protagonisten sind gierig, mürrisch und egoistisch - aber sie sitzen im Rollstuhl. Wie alle grossen Werke der Misanthropie rechtfertig Aaltra sich selbst durch diese Tatache! Wir erleben De Kervern bettelnd und bittend auf der Strasse einer Kleinstadt, Fussgänger angreifend - von allen verschmäht - in seinem Stuhl. Immer wieder testen die beiden Rollstuhlfahrer die Grenzen des guten Willens der Bürger um sich herum. Aus ihrer Perspektive sehen wir die Welt als feindseligen Platz für Behinderte. Schliesslich erreichen die Beiden Finnland und müssen eine Entdeckung machen, die genauso ironisch wie gemein ist... Aaltra diente schliesslich im Freiluftkino der Bar 25 als eine Art erweiterter Videoabend und entwickelte sich zu einer der meistverliehenen DVDs der Filmkunst. Nun kannten doch mehr Leute Aaltra und nicht nur mein Partner Skulli. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Two men who are crippled in an accident involving a tractor set off for compensation from the company that built the tractor. Yet surprisingly, this is a charming and investing film. You are invested in the goal of the characters despite the fact that they may be unlikeable. But what really makes up the charm is the simplicity of it all. It is a French film in black-and-white in 2004, with no music. It is simply following two venturing neighbors who hate each other... and it's good. The film has not-so-much dialogue, yet you still feel invested in the characters. So, this may have been perfect, but I did feel a sense of disappointment by the end. Mentioning the simplicity, it is almost too simple as in there isn't a good-enough kick to end it all. It does what it wishes, but I feel that it should have done more. Another flaw (not for me, but for an audience) is that people will easily be turned off by certain things, such as the comedy. I feel that some audiences may feel either ashamed to laugh because they are in wheeel-chairs, or they just won't understand the humor. And if you do not understand the humor, you will very easily be bored by this. But anyone who could understand should really look forward to it (that isn't saying the people who don't get it are stupid).
