I remember seeing this in the theater when it came out. At that time it really worked and was an exciting and chilling movie. Watched it now 50 years later. It still worked but as with most movies of the era the pacing was slower. Movie goers had more patient stance. With eyes in 2025 it could have been faster paced, but I feel you would lose the suspense of the original movie.

A highly influential, cult classic extraterrestrial virus movie for a very good reason. Great script, excellent cast and despite an occasional lull in pacing, one of the very best examples of the genre. It's undeniably aged a little in the fifty plus years since it's release in 1971 but it's still magnificent and hopefully not prescient...

Saw this when I was 10 which was probably a great age to see this - so memorable and formidable in shaping my movie taste. It's because of this film that Sci-fi quickly became my favorite genre which has endured to this day.
