Audience Member Early in the movie the rich factory owner neglected his lovely wife and daughter. Meanwhile a rival in "love" with his wife attempts to kill the owner, only to leave him without legs. While in the hospital his rival and wife (who had his power of attorney) sold his stock creating a merger and makes a huge profit. Unbeknownst to him the wife withdrew all his money from the sale of the stock and fled to England and instead of filing a complaint against her he lets the 3 of them escape. Shortly after their arrival in England the rival steals all the money and kills the wife making it look like a suicide. The daughter is placed in state care and the father anonymously adopts her and supports her behind the scene. The rival returns to the USA and ends up owning/running the same company. Meanwhile the crippled had a story run in the paper saying he was killed in a train accident. At the beginning the main character decides to work with police and a blind beggar after they caught a bank robber in the act and refused the reward in order to start a fraternity. The fraternity became worth 100s of millions of dollars and gets a few thousand homeless people into their own mansions that they buy from their daily savings. (Each of the 1,100 beggars saved $3 a day and had over $1 million dollars after the first year.) The crippled leader resigns as their president in order to seek revenge against his rival by destroying him financially. Trouble occurs when he is unable to fulfill his plot and his fraternity comes to his rescue. This movie demonstrates the power behind individuals when they band together....this time for good. Spoiler alert: Justice is served after 15 years. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review bill t An odd movie about a successful industrialist who is injured because of a workplace accident, then gets the company stolen from him by an unscupulous employee. The industrialist then goes on a crusade, and goes panhandling (don't ask) and brings all the OTHER panhandlers into a union! Soon the panhandlers union is taking care of them, and of course, the industrialist is rich again, all the more to take revenge on his former employee! Highly preposterous and somewhat amusing, this film seems to be aimed more towards the high brow crowd. Lord knows what they thought of it. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member The ideas that the story proposes are pretty cool, but the plot has little if any conflict, and the movie becomes boring right in the middle of it, which is a bad sign. I was disappointed with this movie. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Read all reviews
