Audience Member A psychotic break of manic catharsis. A genius of ego maniacal verve & drive. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member A scathing and transparent commentary re global social injustice. Brand successfully displays his evolution from drug addicted funny man to a representative of his generation, standing up for and standing up to "the establishment". His no holds barred approach, is a refreshing change from the bland and out of touch with reality conservative alternatives. Though his arguments are drenched in cynicism and humour, when you strip them down to their core, they are actually quite brilliant and refreshing. Here's to hoping his next venture is a 2.1 vs 3.0. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member It's just a montage of everything he's done. Narcissistic prick. I like him but this was too much. Bell Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member mad, hi, deluded or the Messiah? Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Prolonged mundanity. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member I enjoyed the raw and powerful story about the emergence of Russell Brand from addict to revolutionary. He truly speaks from the heart in an unabashed way. I love the line yes I'm an egocentric narcissist but I'm your egocentric narcissist. Worth watching and funny as hell! Charlotte O'Sullivan London Evening Standard Like The Emperor's New Clothes, A Second Coming gets your brain buzzing. Rated: 4/5 Oct 25, 2015 Full Review Robbie Collin Daily Telegraph (UK) You're left with the sense that Brand might yet be the subject of a great documentary, but he'd probably have to be on the other side of the planet while it was being made. Rated: 2/5 Oct 25, 2015 Full Review Mark Kermode Observer (UK) Brand emerges as exasperating company - variously intelligent, amusing and insufferable - but Noel Gallagher steals the show, declaring that he'll only buy into Brand's revolution if he can be the Duke of Manchester. Rated: 3/5 Oct 25, 2015 Full Review Tom Bond One Room With A View At best, Brand: A Second Coming feels like the comedy counterpart to the tragedy of his noughties contemporary, Amy. At worst, it's like riding shotgun on the Brand ego machine. Rated: 4/5 Apr 22, 2019 Full Review Alison Rowat The Herald (Scotland) The annoying thing about Brand, as [director Ondi] Timoner's film shows, is that underneath all the posing is a funny, as in ha-ha, guy. Rated: 3/5 Aug 22, 2018 Full Review Lewis Porteous The Skinny Timoner seems reluctant to probe Brand and consequently offers little in the way of revelation.
