Alain E @AlainE 2d A fantastic sentimental tale that starts with two kids relocated during the Blitzkrieg from London to Wales. They live with a strict widower and his kind widowed sister. They have to learn to adapt to changing conditions, but in the end love wins all. Not every movie has to be about doom and gloom. Besides, here it is not evident early on that everything will eventually drop in place. Very good acting and cinematography. Admittedly, although the subjects are school aged students, we spend almost no time in the classroom, but we are kept busy with everything else happening in their lives. On Tubi. BBC production. See more 03/17/2014 A bitter sweet family film with some flaws. See more 12/06/2012 Sweetly performed by a lovely Keeley Fawcett, Carrie's War is sharply scripted and positively acted, but still the ending is unsatisfying.
