Santiago C This isn't a "typical" science documentary. Don't expect to watch this and learn about CERN's work through details, statistics, facts and "cool" animations of particles colliding into each other. This movie is a portrait of the human quest for knowledge, through technology. The documentary shows the incomprehensible complexity of the technology and knowledge put in place to try to understand what the heck is going on, at the most fundamental level of reality. It also contrasts this complexity with the ordinariness of the people that work there, through sporadic interviews and shots of them working with this technology. The lack of music and commentary makes for a fantastic upfront approach to the reality of this "modern cathedral" (in the words of one of the scientists interviewed). This movie is a compelling portrait of the human condition. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/02/22 Full Review Read all reviews
