What to Know

Critics Consensus

Its leisurely, businesslike pace won't win the franchise many new fans, but Voyage of the Dawn Treader restores some of the Narnia franchise's lost luster with strong performances and impressive special effects.

Rated: 1.5/4 Dec 18, 2010 Full Review Lisa Kennedy Denver Post Not quite a must-see, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is nonetheless a sturdy outing with many of the charms that have become franchise trademarks. Micboy y I watched this multiple times throughout my childhood, and have continued watching it as an adult. It's not the Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, but the sense of fantasy and pure wonder it instilled within me as a child has remained untouched as the years have gone on. There is no better ending for Reepicheep than the land of Aslan. There is no greater arc for Eustace than seeing the monster he was and overcoming it (with some help). Edmund finally gets his own life without the shadow of Peter, and Lucy gets to realize that she can love who she is and not see who she thinks she should be. Despite what others have said, I still believe the CG in this movie is phenomenal and is used with far more class than many other movies today. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/08/25 Full Review The Wandering D Another good Narnia movie. I love this movie, but it isn't as good as the other two films in the franchise. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/25 Full Review Nathan H I LOVED IT!!!!! BETTER THAN PRINCE CASPIAN!!!!! PLEASE MAKE THE SILVER CHAIR!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/23/25 Full Review Gotta S The CGI is lacking, especially for 2010 but overall the story is fun, That is nearly as good as the other But it’s still worth a watch. In my opinion, what are the dialogue is quite well written and emotionally moving. Good piece of art. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/03/25 Full Review Brayden G At least it’s better than the second Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/30/24 Full Review Benjamin H Although the fantasy feel of its predecessors are still kept intact and its light hearted nature makes it appealing to kids especially in some of the scenes that conveys a message, this is a poorly paced, bland and underwhelming movie that has a plot and characters devoid of a lot of spark and personality, ultimately making this a disorderly product with little distinct value.
