Jeffrey P The look and style, the atmosphere and the soundtrack all combine to score very highly with me. The story was good, the acting fine, the problem was with the jumping back and forth in the timeline. In the end, the jumbled timelines served no real purpose as there was no tangible relation to time, so it all felt kinda wasted. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/25/23 Full Review Patrick S Don't listen to the critics on this one. It's a slow burn with a lot of cult mumbo jumbo about aliens. It has its moments but it's cheesy. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 04/23/23 Full Review Ravenswood R Unintentionally goofy, with a plot and story and dramatic arc so thin they are barely noticeable. Star Trek original series level sets and backdrops. Some of the acting is good, but most is one dimensional. Of course there are major conflicts, threats with guns, etc., all the normal trite movie stuff. Nothing special here at all, just a run of the mill poor attempt at making a film. I did not really dislike it entirely as it somehow kept me occupied in a vegetative state, but my friend watching with me said it was "the worst movie I have seen in a long time." So, there you have it, two reviews in one. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/10/23 Full Review james c I met the soundtrack artist Alan Howarth at a convention and just on a whim picked up the movie. I watched it the next day on halloween and was really shocked. Sure, it isnt candy for the mind, its actually terribly real. I mean really, as with those who have made actual claims to extraterrestrial encounters, these people are not enamored by the experience, or indulging creative vice. It has been traumatic for them, and they find themselves brought together in this collective trauma. So yeah, its not pretty or trippy, its painful. But im glad it was, it makes for a much more believable scenario, and a truly novel exploration of what might be a future. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/02/22 Full Review Audience Member What an amazing movie. Excellent acting and some of the most beautiful scenery one can find in Canada. It was like being inside a Group of Seven painting with a ufo cult story taking place. Phil granger killed it as Dieter. The female leads were so well acted. Only complaint would be visual effects at the end of the film could have used a higher degree of work as it felt a little indie at that point. Overall great Canadian project! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member I get the hate. This ain't for everyone. The scene transitions are a bit tacky (star wars presently). The plot is basically Windex. Very see through and questionably written. The dialogue can be a little stiff, campy and unnatural with the actors. But the emotion is there. But honestly I loved it. A surrealistic visual film as it was delightful like Mandy. Like a mind trip and definitely psychedelic. But even in this most simplistic slow burn and I see where we're going to say it's trash. I think it's pretty dope low-key sci-fi thriller. I dig the music. The themes of loss, grief and feeling like an outsider in ones life is genuine and relatable. To me. The twist of alien stuff was nice. I like that kind of shit. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Read all reviews
