TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch Jan 16 Everybody Wants Some!! is a laid-back, carefree comedy built around a large ensemble of up-and-coming young actors playing college baseball players, though the film barely focuses on baseball itself. Instead, it follows their early days on campus, navigating parties, girls, ego clashes, drugs, and nonstop banter. There’s no heavy plot, no deep drama, and nothing meant to be taken seriously. This is a vibe movie through and through, leaning into goofy humor and a hazy, hangout-style structure that feels lifted straight from a stoner-era mindset. It’s fun, dumb, and intentionally aimless. If you go in expecting a meaningful sports film or a cinematic masterpiece, you’ll be disappointed. But if you want an easygoing, quirky comedy about college excess and youthful chaos, it delivers exactly what it promises. I didn't think I'd ever find a movie less enjoyable than "Do they Serve Beer in Hell?" but this movie might actually compete. There are absolutely zero redeeming qualities. None of the jokes are funny. The acting is horrible and corny. There is no discernable plot. The flirting with women is nausea inducing. The music is good I guess? If you are a boomer. The only conceivable way to enjoy this movie is it gives someone an excuse to live a toxic male fantasy of being a douchey college athlete. For the shocking number of people who somehow find enjoyment in this movie please tell me a single line or scene that you found to contain a single ounce of comedy because I fail to think of a single example. 0/10 See more Lucas B. @lukekhowsbest Dec 15 Super solid movie. Great cast, fun story about kids just having a great time. This it the movie I put on when I want to smile and it is a movie that just makes you feel good. I know many consider Dazed and Confused Linklater's mater piece but I think this movie is it. Highly recommended. See more Jeffrey P Jun 19 The follow-up to the cult classic, Dazed & Confused, though not connected in any way. I put off watching it for so long because I heard nothing good about it, which makes sense as there is inherently less broad appeal. If those sentiments were wrong, I’d have been surprised. The characters are all the same, there’s no contrasting styles and from there it’s just something entirely different than Dazed & Confused, which had more and better direction. This just felt like it wasn’t going anywhere. The ending was absolutely nothing and was made even worse by the fact that there was no journey towards it. It didn’t seem like there was much of a soundtrack either. Is it an accurate depiction of the days before classes at a university or college, yes, but... it just doesn’t work like Dazed & Confused did, for whatever reason, who knows?
