Charlie Swift (Pierce Brosnan), aka "Fast Charlie," is a fixer with a problem: the target he's whacked is missing his head. And he must prove it's the intended target to the man who paid for the hit -- New Orleans' most prominent and most ruthless mobster, Beggar Mercado (Gbenga Akinnagbe). Charlie enlists Marcie Kramer (Morena Baccarin), the victim's ex-wife and a woman with the backbone and skillset Charlie needs. Dragging Marcie back into a past she was determined to escape sends the two of them on a wild and unpredictable odyssey that's unexpectedly amusing, action propelled, and ultimately heartfelt. Along the way, Charlie and Marcie fight to protect the legacy of Charlie's best friend and mentor, Stan Mullen (James Caan in his final performance), while bringing down Beggar and his entire operation. John Nugent Empire Magazine A bit of an odd one, an action-comedy throwback that doesn’t quite know what it wants to be. Still, it bodes well for Pierce Brosnan’s new phase as a grey-haired action star. Rated: 2/5 Mar 18, 2024 Full Review Richard Roeper Chicago Sun-Times Pierce Brosnan has a wry sense of humor in this slick and violent piece of pulp entertainment. Rated: 3/4 Dec 16, 2023 Full Review Randy Myers San Jose Mercury News Phillip Noyce’s well-seasoned, blood-splattered throwback, a smooth ride that doesn’t wear out its welcome at a brisk 90 minutes. Rated: 3/4 Dec 13, 2023 Full Review Neil Soans The Times of India The film thrives on a relaxed pace, blending action and dark comedy. But it is a double-edged sword; while it keeps Fast Charlie from becoming too grim, it also makes some scenes feel off-kilter and less impactful. Rated: 3.5/5 Jun 4, 2024 Full Review Jeffrey M. Anderson Common Sense Media This crime tale uses many familiar elements, but, under the guidance of director Phillip Noyce, it feels crisp, fleet-footed, and spirited, adding up to a solid, entertaining B-movie. Rated: 4/5 Jan 12, 2024 Full Review Bill Arceneaux Moviegoing with Bill 'Fast Charlie' is made up entirely of shrugs and sighs, and is a pathetic genre attempt set in the humid Deep South. David M Very enjoyable and fun to watch. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/15/23 Full Review Lorry S Pierce still has it. I really liked the movie. Hitman story with James Cann in it. Marcie's character was too young for him. But the story kept moving and it was enjoyable to watch. If you love Pierce Brosnan (as Charlie). You have to see it. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/23/24 Full Review Jelisije J Pierce Brosnan does it again as a problem solver seeking revenge on an up incoming gangster that screwed with the wrong man. A great Farewell to the Legend James Caan. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/21/24 Full Review Dave V Good movie. Really enjoyed it. Great story with a great ending. I enjoyed the whole movie. Not a lot of surprises, but very well done. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/12/24 Full Review Nooway N Good story, OK acting but loosing a big chunk of points on the "standard/low budget tv-movie" feel and filming. Better postproduction could have improved somewhat! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/20/24 Full Review Todd M Pierce Brosnan is still Fierce. One of his best performances yet, after a few minutes I stopped seeing the Brosnan I've known for three decades and completely saw Charlie Swift. That's no mean feat for a Bond actor. Supported brilliantly by Baccarin and James Caan. Brilliant score too. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/01/24 Full Review Read all reviews
