Charlie Swift (Pierce Brosnan), aka "Fast Charlie," is a fixer with a problem: the target he's whacked is missing his head. And he must prove it's the intended target to the man who paid for the hit -- New Orleans' most prominent and most ruthless mobster, Beggar Mercado (Gbenga Akinnagbe). Charlie enlists Marcie Kramer (Morena Baccarin), the victim's ex-wife and a woman with the backbone and skillset Charlie needs. Dragging Marcie back into a past she was determined to escape sends the two of them on a wild and unpredictable odyssey that's unexpectedly amusing, action propelled, and ultimately heartfelt. Along the way, Charlie and Marcie fight to protect the legacy of Charlie's best friend and mentor, Stan Mullen (James Caan in his final performance), while bringing down Beggar and his entire operation.

The narrative isn't particularly exciting, but between the good work of Brosnan and Baccarin, the efficient direction of Noyce, and the moments of sudden violence and efficient black humour, "Fast Charlie" manages to entertain. Full review in Spanish.

The film thrives on a relaxed pace, blending action and dark comedy. But it is a double-edged sword; while it keeps Fast Charlie from becoming too grim, it also makes some scenes feel off-kilter and less impactful.

Bullshit reviews alert! There are multiple 5* reviews below for this film, but they are certainly fake. Without Brosnan's star pull, it would be an utterly forgettable, generic mob vs mob d-list film, but he adds a certain charisma. It's watchable, but nothing more. To be honest, Brosnan's accent nearly made me quit after 20 minutes, but i had the time to kill, so there you go.

I don’t know what’s up with these ratings but something isn’t right. Maybe it’s bots. Maybe rotten tomatoes was paid off to allow fake reviews. I’m not sure what it is but these ratings can’t be real. This movie was so bad. Terrible in fact. Everything about it. Bad bad bad. If you’re in the mood for a movie that’s comically bad then this is a good option, otherwise go spend an hour and a half of your time doing literally anything else.

Fantastic movie, full of surprises, with great performances one and all. Particularly Pierce Brosnan and Morena Baccarin but also a very effective James Caan. Well written too, with foreshadowing beginning and then a surprise ending.

Well this is something else. Pierce Brosnan and Morena Baccarin shines in the lead, well directed by Noyce. Great cinematography, very well written, whole cast convincing in character. Lots of action and unpredictable twists. Charming, funny, violent, romantic and compassion all mixed into this story

Came and watched this after watching Brosnan in Mobland. God he is such a fine actor, he can seem to slip into any role so effortlessly. This was one of those rare films that I’d call ‘beautiful’ AND ‘exciting’, usually those two things are mutually exclusive but this had me really feeling for the characters as well as being on the edge of my seat through the brilliant and tense action. Chemistry between Brosnan and Caan and then Brosnan and Baccarin was off the charts. Would be really cool if they did a TV series showing Charlie’s exploits when he was younger, I want to know more! Such a good character.
