This sequel is little more than an excuse to stage elaborate, gory scenes of characters getting killed off.

James B A rare case where the sequel is as good as the movie and what an explosive ending. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/12/24 Full Review Amir A Takes All the gruesome horror from the first and just improves on the realistic nature of the deaths and there is so much tension. Spoilers-I Can't believe they killed off Ali Larter/Clear Rivers and Revealed that Alex Browning from the first movie died. But As The Saying Goes, You Can't Cheat Death Twice! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/24 Full Review Audience Member Over 20 years old and still so entertaining when it comes to the idea of death having its own design Taking place after the original with only returning cast members Ali Larter as Clear Rivers and Tony Todd as the mortician We focus on a new group of unlucky individuals A huge pileup occurs on a freeway and a young girl named Kimberly has a premonition of it She sees that herself and other bystanders end up dead Kimberly survives and so do a few of them from the pileup but just like the last movie it isn't over.... Death had a plan for all of them and it slowly starts picking them off one by one but in an interesting turn it goes backwards Kimberly and an officer have to work together along with survivor Clear to defeat the design itself The opening is possibly one of the movies' finest moments considering it's an every day occurrence that could happen as opposed to a roller coaster or a racetrack or a bridge collapsing, plus it was based on a real-life incident Possibly the most fun installment in the series Great laughs and super fun kills to spare thanks to director David R. Ellis It's even the first film in this franchise to feature nudity It's cool to contemplate that death surrounds us all the time and can strike at any moment It's clear the victims from flight 180 should've gotten off easy after the plane explosion but it's the way they all bit the dust so quickly after that seemed out of place The movie continues to play upon our commonplace fears as well as incoming new ones It also teases viewers with certain things to happen but turns things over and there's some greater sense of irony throughout It's refreshing this adds to the first movie's mythology while also amping up the carnage on display Much lighter and campier than its predecessor but still retains the gore Nothing of high art that's for certain and the plot has general ridiculousness yet here it's the chapter that best recognizes that sometimes there's nothing more frightening than the everyday As far as horror franchises go 'Final Destination 2' proves there's still fun to be had watching people die in freaky ways Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/01/24 Full Review Dan R 2003's 'Final Destination 2' follows on directly from the first film. SYNOPSIS: 'Death is stalking Kimberly Corman and multiple survivors of a deadly highway accident.' Although the original film is the best of the franchise this film has the most memorable initial death scene. If you know you know you've moved over in traffic. The sequel gives the Director an excuse to stage more elaborate, gory scenes of the cast getting killed off by Death. It's a fun and suspenseful film and the three years between films means that some of the CGI effects have significantly improved. It's the brilliant deaths though which are the true stars of this film even though Ali Larter is excellent on her return. Worth a giggle! 6/10 Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/11/24 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
