Pickatcu 1 Fascinating for a short film and very brilliant for an original idea...too bad I saw it after the animated version of it... Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/20/23 Full Review Jeffrey M Frankienweenie was an amazing " movie ish ". It's a " movie ish " because it is too short too be a movie and too long to be a short. Frankienweenie was a very interesting " movie ish ". What a good " movie ish ". I give it a 73% Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/24 Full Review Audience Member The short film that got Tim Burton fired from Disney, the source material of the underrated stop-motion animated movie from 2012 (getting overshadowed by Hotel Trnasylvania and the amazing ParaNorman sadly meant that Halloween burnout settled in by that point for family audiences) isn't as memorable as Vincent but is still weird, decently acted, a bit ballsy (once again, Disney gave Burton the sack over this short...thank goodness they buried the hatchet by the '90s) and has a great sense of atmosphere, mostly owing to the black-and-white cinematography. I do like the animated movie and its expansion on the director's own source material but this short has something to it that made me appreciate it more. P.S. I'm amused with the fact that while Disney have been obsessed with live-action remakes for a decade now, Frankenweenie is the opposite being an animated remake of a live-action film, albeit a short film rather than a proper feature-length movie. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review robert p A short movie made by Tim Burton as a promo for a movie!!! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review s r I remember not enjoying this odd one.
