Does it matter that every time Jolie's offscreen the film wilts a little? Ryder should be perfect as the bright spark; her lines are sharp as a knife. There's a gap, however, between what we hear and what we see.

I think this movie his amazing I could watch it every day but if you never watch it I think you should do so but twice to actually get the story and also every character because they all have their own history but some can be harder to understand for some.

This is an interesting film and will definitely catch the appeal of teens. The acting is also great as the cast suggests, but sadly I think the main character is very blend and hard to get invested into. Also, I'd say that the movie's goal seems to be humanazing people and to give an insight on how it is to live in a mental institute but by the end of the film I feel like it has done the total opposite and the main character ends up recovering easily and being labeled as normal because she's supposed to have willingness and the other keep doing the same mistakes because they're bad and crazy. I just felt like the directors had actually no empthy for the subject they were dealing with.

The movie is slow and boring despite everyone's best efforts doing their respective roles. Ryder and Jolie are the clear standouts but even without Jolie the movie does not feel great. Criticize her Osacr win for this film all you want but Jolie's firey on-screen presence is the best part. Giving this 3 stars is being nice if I am honest.
