Imagine a guy that works in a bank. Totally organised, greedy for profit and with that certain slimy attitude...to put it briefly: someone we all hate. Frederik (Fabian Hinrichs) is such a guy. In his own misantrophic way to speak with his clients, he tells Herrn Schneider, that his loan will be cancelled. Herr Schneider takes out a gun and kills himself.
We all witness, how pathetic Frederik's life is. His boss makes fun of him, he stalks his ex-girlfriend, steals CD's in a shop to get a little thrill and he not even dares to say something when someone is taking his parking lot.
And Frederik begins to realize how miserable he is, too. Something comes to his mind: he knows who has a lot of money, and he also knows who goes on a holiday. And his boss will go on a holiday....so Frederik breaks into his house. He does not want to steal something, he rearranges the paintings (Yes, that reminded me of "Die fetten Jahre sind vorbei". Still I love the idea to break into houses, steal nothing, just rearrange things.)....and loses his creditcard, while trying to open a door with it.
Good thing, that he remembers his old buddy Vince (Jürgen Vogel). Vince has been to prison and he knows how to break into houses, how to fight and how to assert oneself. For 2500 Euro Vince get's Frederik's creditcard, calls the rearrangement of the paintings pathetic and organizes what and how to steal the valuable things. "Wenn wir schonmal hier sind; pack alles ein." ("Now that we are here; take everything.")
Frederik becomes VERY self-confident. Vince teaches him how he gets what he wants. With telling everyone in his way clearly, that he will beat the shit out of them. The task starts with a bunch of Skinheads. A very funny scene.
Frederik and Vince are very successful with their burglaries. Until Frederik realizes, that he wants something different in life- he wants his ex-girlfriend back and tries to impress her with his new self-confidence. And Vince reveals that he wants revenge. Bloody, cold revenge. And that is all he wants.
"Frau Reichert, ich mein es ernst. Wenn sie sich mit mir anlegen, komme ich zu ihnen nach Hause und poliere ihnen die Fresse." ("Frau Reichert, I am serious. If you try to mess with me, I will come and visit you at home. And I will beat the living shit out of you.")

Like the story like the style. But not the best acting for Jurgen Vogel, maybe it's due to the character.

Nice story...although the open ending was not to my taste.

An intense film of bank employee who has a mid-life crisis and begins to cope with it by turning to crime and violence. It gets annoyingly repetitious and unfocused as it drifts off into side stories of his voyeuristic obsession with a woman from his past, him starting a rock band, embezzlement by someone at the bank he used to work at and on and on. The motivations of the characters become more obscure as each of these elements are introduced.
