A moronic plot peppered with witty dialogue and great performances. It is what it is, and makes no pretensions to be anything else. Brilliant. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Good and stupid but found myself laughing on occasion. A gang of country lads from Mayo go on the road to the European championship in Poland. I had never seen the television show and from the trailer I was expecting it to be complete and other wank but I actually enjoyed it. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member The hardy bucks is about s group of young men from Castletown, Ireland who embark on a debauched road trip to Poznan for the Euros football tournament. Hardy Bucks is the first film to have come from a youtube video series. The quotes about marmite "You either like it or hate it" will sure to be mentioned in many a review. To like this movie you have to be an Irish male, probably between 16-21 and it's not a film to take your girlfriend too on a date. The plot doesn't make much sense, but then again, that doesn't really matter in a movie like this one. It's a cross between the Inbetweeners, jackass and an Irish version of the hangover movie. A really bad hangover! I can't figure out if the acting is extremely good, or appallingly bad! But the fact is that this is probably how a bunch of country boys from County Mayo on their way to Poland for the Euro would behave, talk, and live. Hardy Bucks finest moments is the unsophisticated conversations, arguments, practical jokes and piss-taking among themselves whether that be at the wrong end of a gun range or back home in the cottage. There's a few giggles but not enough to sustain it for a whole film. It very much felt like they were making it up as they went along. The most redeeming fact about this movie is that it was made for less than £300k. Any more and it would have been an outrage. Will be a big hit with students. www.lovebelfast.simplelander.com Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
