Tom Spoors Loud and Clear Reviews Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part One may have some fresh ideas, but it mostly feels like a mesh of everything wrong with superhero films today. Rated: 2.5/5 Jan 7, 2025 Full Review Jeffrey Lyles Lyles' Movie Files Like the Arrowverse version, it shows there’s no improving on the original. Creators would be better served simply bringing that story from Marv Wolfman and George Perez to live-action/animation instead of making wholesale changes. Rated: 4/10 Apr 23, 2024 Full Review Jennifer Borget Common Sense Media Whether you're a long-time fan of the DC heroes, or new to the franchise, you'll be able to jump right in and enjoy the movie for what it is, an action-packed adventure with some heart. Rated: 4/5 Jan 26, 2024 Full Review Jonathan Garcia Dynamic Duel Podcast Its unconventional narrative structure ultimately pays off as its emotional ending sets up the promise of a fascinating conclusion to this animated universe. Alexa K This review covers all three parts. Overall, I really enjoyed it! However, I deducted one star because it occasionally feels choppy and rushed, especially for a big finale wrapping up over a decade of continuity films. That said, given the negative reviews, I was pleasantly surprised. This film is best suited for those who have seen EVERY Tomorrowverse and DCAMU film since 2013 at a bare minimum. It’s not for casual viewers streaming it on HBO, as many likely didn’t realize it serves as a finale rather than a stand-alone. Some critiques feel unfair, often missing context. For instance, complaints about the animation style and "overuse of the multiverse theme" overlook important details. The "Tomorrowverse series" films have used this retro animation style since 2020 to set them apart—it’s a deliberate choice fitting this continuity. If someone disliked it in previous films, that’s one thing, but criticizing it here without context seems misplaced. There's a lot to pick apart for the film with directing, editing, and pacing. But when it comes to the multiverse itself, this an adaptation of the landmark 1980s comic, not an original standalone screenplay. The multiverse theme is a cornerstone of DC storytelling, dating back to the 1960s with *"The Flash of Two Worlds."* The film ties together nearly a decade of animated narratives, and dismissing the multiverse as overused tropes misses its significance—not just in this film but in DC’s legacy. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/08/25 Full Review Audience Member Animation are stiff and look like from 2005. Story is boring and convoluted at the same time.... I saw all 3 parts and its not getting better. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 12/30/24 Full Review matthias s As a huge comic book nerd and die-hard DC fan, Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths Part One was better than I expected, especially after hating the previous film. The storyline is one of my favorites, and I loved how comic-accurate it was. Seeing the Justice League come together was a highlight, even if this felt more like a Flash movie than a full-on Justice League film—not a bad thing, though! Flash’s perspective worked, and the key Justice League moments were still there. The voice cast was fantastic, and seeing all these superheroes in one film was a treat. That said, the animation style is *so* ugly, and I can’t get over it. The movie felt more like a setup with tons of info, which is fine, but it needed more fun and energy. If you haven’t read the comics, it might get confusing. Overall, better than I expected! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/10/24 Full Review Miguel Eduardo D Boring, Lack of coherence, the characters doesnt match their real personalities, too many changes from the original comic, an insult to Marv Wolfman and George Perez.
