      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Though Jolie is appealing, Life or Something Like It is too contrived and predictable to convincingly convey its message of stopping to smell the roses.

Audience Member Better than it’s rated. Great message. Angelina was awesome! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/03/23 Full Review Sanja S It delivered on its promise and had a wonderful cast. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/30/23 Full Review wallysparks It was an okay movie. The premise of the movie was very intriguing and had a lot of potential. That is kind of where it ends for me though. Any actual plot and character was muzzled. You couldn't get a clear concise picture of who Lanie really was or how her childhood (which was brought up a few times in the movie, seemingly for nothing) actually had any significance in how she was as an adult. It was watchable I will give it that, and there were cute moments strewn in there. But I couldn't give it more than 3 stars Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/25/23 Full Review Michael T I see why this movie got so many negative reviews. It showed up the superficiality of just living life for the conventional rewards of public recognition, success (money), and having a famous or well placed spouse. All this is questioned and the characters look to find themselves in a deeper and more fulfilling sense. Angelina (in her prime) totally owned the screen throughout and she had good chemistry with Edward Burns in his supporting role. Yes, there are the usual rom-com cliches, but the performances of the leads overshadowed these shortcomings. I found the story enjoyable. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/06/23 Full Review nilufer e It was a boring movie with almost horrible acting. I only recently watched it by advice but I should've known better. Took me 3 attempts to finish it. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Misogyny, let's all hate on a woman whom despite following all sexist clishe there is still manages to be successful and somewhat happy and make her become something entirely different, because women can never be enough just as they are. Didn't finish the movie so can't say was there a point to it but highly doubt it Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
