Stephen Romei The Australian A film with serious potential marred by a reliance on cliche and a desire to make people happy. Rated: 2/5 Mar 13, 2015 Full Review Leigh Paatsch Herald Sun (Australia) Not so much a feature film as a therapy session where the star is acting as both patient and psychiatrist, Manny Lewis is a distinctly flat experience. Rated: 1.5/5 May 11, 2018 Full Review Jim Schembri 3AW Absolutely terrible...Unfunny, aimless and largely pointless, you'd be better off listening to five minutes of any Carl Barron routine than submitting yourself to yet another Australian feature film that apparently had no audience in mind. Rated: 0.5/5 Mar 20, 2015 Full Review Simon Foster Screen-Space Carl Barron's brand of moody introspection and manufactured romance is unlikely to connect with old fans or win over many new ones. Mar 17, 2015 Full Review Sarah Ward Trespass The incessant talk that continues from start to finish might just be the movie's strongpoint -- and given how clumsy and contrived it is, that's saying something. Mar 12, 2015 Full Review Peter Galvin sbs.com.au It's often funny, episodic and threatens to go to dark places before settling into something that's sweet and wholesome. Rated: 3/5 Mar 12, 2015 Full Review Read all reviews

Daniel C Brilliant movie, great script, refectory performances, insightful, quirky, emotional and confronting. Must see… Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/16/24 Full Review brendan n Carl Barron is a good actor, but the film is a little over the top and can't be salvaged by the romantic love story subplot. The first half of this film is incredible and I couldn't understand the bad reviews, but in the later half this film sank incredibly fast. The performances are not the issue, it's the story beats and forced narrative. Barron should star in more films, he is no slouch at the dramatic parts of the film. This could have a been a great film had the filmmakers improved parts of the overall story. 07/04/2019 Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member I liked this film, Carl is funny whilst being somewhat serious. Critics have been to up their own asses looking down on this film and they're wrong about it. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/24/18 Full Review Audience Member Excellent little movie, those who are bagging this film are totally missing the point. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member For a comedy film, jokes seem to be few and far between. There also seems to be a lack of stakes here. The story is interesting enough to hold one's attention throughout, but never really becomes exciting. It has a couple of touching moments, though. On the whole, I'd say it's worth checking out if you're in the mood for something really simple. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member A really enjoyable film.
