Panos Kotzathanasis Asian Movie Pulse "Master of the Drunken Fist: Beggar So" has its faults, but considering this is HBO's first try in the genre, I would say it is an effort worthy of support, particularly among wuxia fans. Jan 26, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member Film editing was bad. Felt like watching a movie edited for television, but then the commercials were removed. Unnecessary CGI that could have been upstaged by a public television kid's show 20 years ago. The story itself could have been cut in half and been twice as entertaining. No compelling characters. Final fight scene was a huge let-down as was the twist. Spoiler: if his father was surprised to see him, how did he have a message ready inside a bullet to shoot him with?
