Summer 1978. Ignacio Cañas (Marcos Ruiz) is a 17-year-old introvert, and somewhat of a misfit student who lives in Girona. When he meets Zarco (Chechu Salgado) and Tere (Begoña Vargas), two young criminals from the city's Chinatown, he finds himself immersed in an unstoppable career of theft and robbery. I stopped watching this movie a few minutes in because of the scene where the guy was making fun of his grandfather who died of autoerotique asphyxiatio (mastrubating with a noose around his neck). My father died that way when I was a young girl, and this scene was very disturbing to me. For someone to laugh and make jokes about this is beyond sickening. Whoever wrote that scene should be ashamed.

Even dubbed, the authenticity grabbed me. I can feel it, in my stomach. More real than many movies. Not since City of God, or Y tu Mama Tambien, have I been this affected. We Americans should aspire to bring real romance, grit and relationships to the screen. Films such as Outlaws could be more than we can bear.
