Otis Ferguson The New Republic One other waste of celluloid that has been made pleasant by an unspoiled character... Steve D Pure cheese despite Durante. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/04/24 Full Review christopher c. m I think from 1929 to 1960 Hollywood movies were required by law to have at least one musical number whether it fit the tone of the movie or not. Jimmy Durante is always a win. He was very good in the part he would play a lot in his career, the funny con man. But there are some annoying characters and like most of the movie between 1929 - 1970, it drags. It mainly drags in the middle, but not enough to ruin it. And it was a time you would not expect to see any nudity but there was a blink and you miss it topless picture. But it was a postcard from Fiji and they were black. I guess natives were excluded from the moral outrage of nipples in the thirties? I don't know, but it's there.
