Regina P Somewhere in the middle, I started to get the sense that this was a Shutter Island rip-off. I guess I was somewhat right. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/01/24 Full Review Audience Member Very cool this movie, it rocked. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member I have to give this film some credit. They did match the younger counterparts of each patient particularly well. I honestly think the actors did about as much as they could with this sad, sad little script. Yet it somehow left me some how both unfulfilled and feeling like I was witnessing some one stuffing ten pounds of potatoes in a five pound bag. I feel tha I understand the inspiration of this movie, but there is no real continuity. The last thing I'm going to gripe about is the hideous use of every tired, worn out trope ever used in every 'asylum' horror movie since the absolutely legendary "The Snake Pit." From the outside aerial shot of the supposed building, to the woes of lack of funding (leading to flickering light fixtures, set furniture salvaged from a 1960's public school), together with sadistic, unprofessional doctors and wildly delusional patients (Not saying that any of this does not or never existed in the real world, but....) this one checked off nearly every box in the 'Idiots Guide to Making a Predictable Horror Flick.' In fact, skip this one. Watch "The Snake Pit" and you will not be sorry. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member This is the worst horror film I have ever had the displeasure of viewing. Poor acting, poor storyline, the only redemption comes in the form of Everyones favorite prosthesis monster, Mr. Doug Jones, and his spooky Scihzophrenic demon. And it I s a 30 second clip out of a 2 hour movie, so that I s not saying much. Save yourself the watch. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Really enjoyed this, the shorts were all excellent, the wraparound was sometimes a bit tired and samey, but also eerie and dark. Alfie Allen in "the body" segment was outstanding, Michael Ironside as the doctor with a mission was superb, and in general the film as a whole was very good Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member i sort of watched this; sort of didn't. probably won't try to rewatch it.
